SSUR was founded in 1988 by visionary artist Ruslan Karablin, a creative force born in Soviet Era Odessa, Ukraine. Raised amidst the kaleidoscopic energy of Brooklyn's Coney Island, Ruslan etched his mark on New York City's Downtown art scene, laying the cornerstone for what would become a legendary brand.
As one of the trailblazers of streetwear, SSUR quickly rose to prominence, revered for its genuine ethos and innovative designs that captivated audiences not only in New York City but across the globe.
Ruslan’s creative journey was marked by art shows and collaborations that pushed boundaries and challenged conventional thinking. From iconic cooperative partnerships with the likes of Supreme to boundary-pushing projects with everyone from Undefeated, Stüssy, LEVI’S Converse and MEDICOM, each project bore the unmistakable imprint of Ruslan’s artistic vision, captivating audiences and leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.
